One of my favorite venues on the island is the beautiful Kualoa Ranch. The mountains, lush green vegetation, ocean view, gorgeous view of the landmark Chinaman’s Hat and the ride to Secret Island make this destination literally a “Heaven on Earth”. The over 4,000 acres of Hawaiian landscape was made popular in the movies Lost and Jurassic Park as well as many other movies. It’s the perfect backdrop for a hawaiian wedding.
My most recent wedding was held at Paliku Gardens
I arrived at Paliku Gardens, prior to the bride and groom, and decided to photograph the area. I met one of the employees, Socorro, and we talked about the history of the place. There were fun stories about her staying late after the wedding to close down, being caught in the middle of a horse stampede (sorta), locating runaway pigs, etc. It sounded more like an adventure rather than work.
Secret Beach is another favorite of mine
You need a boat to get out there, but the view from the boat is amazing. All I thought was what event can I use to come back here?
If you are visiting the island you can view their tours. I was told the ATV tour is a fun way to spend a day. If you’re getting married in Hawaii, especially Kualoa Ranch, the difficulty will be in choosing which location on the property to use. They are all equally beautiful! Of course I’m a little biased since I’m on the vendor list
