Congratulations! You’re engaged! What’s next? One thing to think about after getting engaged is where to take your engagement photos! We’ve talked about why you want to take engagement photos on this post– now it’s time to decide where!
Some things to ask yourself- is there any special place important to you? Will you be comfortable shooting there? Is it in an area where they allow professional photography? Here are a few ideas for places to take your engagement photos in Hawaii!
- Have you and your fiancé met somewhere special on the island? Perhaps a bar or restaurant, or maybe even a theater or downtown Honolulu? We can work around the best times and days to shoot at busy urban areas to create unique engagement looks.
- How about where he proposed? Did he get down on one knee at sunset at a secluded beach? Or asked you to marry him in busy Waikiki with Diamond Head in the background? There is no shortage of beautiful beaches, secluded or busy on the island.
- A famous spot or landmark- It’s always fun to see all the famous places the islands have to offer. Some places like Kualoa Ranch- where they filmed Jurassic Park, or Halona Beach Cove- where they filmed From Here to Eternity are all amazing locations to take your photos. Even photos with the hustle and bustle of Waikiki in the background can convey an interesting and cool vibe to your engagement shots. Another fun idea would be in front of cute food trucks that are infamous on the North Shore of Oahu, or somewhere random with a patch of coconut trees swaying in the background. Keep in mind that some areas do not allow professional photography.
Hopefully these ideas will help you when deciding where to take your engagement photos here in Hawaii. Happy wedding planning!
