As a wedding photographer, I meet and talk to many brides out there who are starting to look for vendors for their special day. And hopefully if you are reading this, I can be a potential photographer for your big event! But how do you know if we can be a good fit working together? Read on for tips on meeting your photographer for the first time- whether in person, on the phone or online!
- First things first- Be prepared! Research the vendors that your are thinking about using. Check our their websites to see if their style matches yours. Make notes on what you like and don’t like and don’t be afraid to bring it up!
- Have a list of any questions or thoughts you have regarding the wedding and your photographer. Look at pricing and make sure everything is within your budget. Get all the details written down.
- Be prepared with a general timeline of the wedding planning process to go over. This will ensure that everyone is on the same page with where they need to be, at what time, and for how long.
- Ask to see their most recent work, in a portfolio or album. Make sure it matches to what they have seen online.
- Get to know each other on a more personal level! Talk story, see if your personalities match. This is important to start a good relationship so that by the time the wedding rolls around, everyone is comfortable with one another.
Hopefully these tips will help you before you have that first consultation meeting. Please don’t hesitate to email me if have any more questions!
