Bridal Series- Are Engagement Photos Worth Taking??

I absolutely love capturing a couple on their wedding day, or a woman carrying her child in pregnancy. I love taking photos of families and seniors. But one of the things I truly love is taking photos of a couple engaged, and their excitement of getting married! You have probably seen engagement photos all over my social media and blog and have wondered, Are engagement photos really worth taking? And the answer is a resounding YES! Here are a few reasons why I think engagement photos are fun and important.

Get to know your photographer. When you get engagement photos done prior to your wedding, you develop a trusting relationship with your photographer. It’s a great way to really get to know them and how they work, and gives everyone the opportunity to ask any questions that might pop up regarding their photos.
Announcements and Save the Date cards. Perhaps the most important reason to take engagement photos is to have that special photo for newspaper and social media announcements and create save the date cards.
Wedding Sign in Books or cute gifts. I absolutely love seeing a couple’s photos displayed at a wedding. And it’s so fun to see photos displayed in a sign in book or in beautiful frames for guests to take home. Be creative!
Display around your home. Decorate your home with meaningful photos of you and your partner, before and after you got married!
Create wonderful memories with your fiancé. Being engaged is such a special time for both of you. Take the time to commemorate this moment and have fun with each other!
